College students are more diverse than ever

Minorities in higher education are on the rise
As the population in the United States grows more diverse, so does the population on any college campus. Hispanic students play a huge role in the increased diversity in our colleges and universities, with each 10-year cohort of Hispanic students seeking more college education than the last. However, there is still work to do – Black students still face the most barriers, with the highest dropout rates, the highest student loan debt burdens and the highest borrowing rates of any group. Part of our mission is education and improving access, so every person has an equal opportunity to achieve the benefits that come from earning a college degree.

Scholarships and funding

Fear of student loan debt is a huge roadblock for many students interested in getting a college degree. However, there are many unknown or little-known scholarships out there that could make your college education much more affordable. Check out our resource on scholarships and funding to see if there is a fit for you. You don’t need to rely solely on student loans with a little planning and research.
